Try using LOADFIX or toggling xms= ems= and/or umb= settings.

DOSbox does have a mouse sensitivity setting - maybe playing with that will help.

you can, but there's no way to access a mounted CD or ISO after booting from an image. i wanted to install FreeDOS to a bootable HDD image last year in DOSBox but couldn't because of this.

My memory might be faulty, but what I do know is that you'll always lose your CD or ISO mounts as soon as you boot off of an image of any kind.

Wow, our first home computer had a Z80 for its CPU, and the original Nintendo Gameboy used a similar chip for its CPU. That thing must not have been cheap.

Yeah, it's not worth it to try to do much of anything in DOSBox that requires booting from a disk image because you lose any ability to mount other stuff. Would be cool if the mount stuff could happen at a lower level, but I guess DOSBox probably doesn't emulate that level :p

DOSBox definitely approaches Pentium II performance on my Core 2 Duo laptop, though. I haven't tested it on my Core i7 desktop yet, although I might want to hold off until ATI/AMD releases Catalyst 10.4 because apparently it will introduce better 2D acceleration for my Radeon HD 5870.

In that case I'd probably just use .bat files instead of shortcuts, and not worry about how pretty it looks. That's just me though.

Yeah my brother built a VIA K6-2 380 with Voodoo Banshee, SB Live Value and it was a dog compared to my PII-450, TNT1, SB PCI 128 (later PIII-550, Geforce 2 MX, SB Live X-Gamer).
