Re: A problem with lots of old Direct X games

in Windows
You can also open up Screen Resolution, then click Advanced Settings, then List All Modes, then double-click the mode you want to set. The list should include every combination of resolution, color depth, and refresh rate supported by your hardware.

Re: Ultima Series for DOSBox

It should be stated though that Ultima II and III are meant for a graphics mode that DOSBox does not support (CGA 320x200 mixed-color-and-artifacting composite graphics). So they will look like they would on most newer PCs in native mode, but not the way they were supposed to look when they came …

Re: A problem with lots of old Direct X games

in Windows
Win9x still sits on top of DOS, so if the emulation becomes accurate enough then it might be possible to eventually install and boot real Win9x inside of DOSBox. But at what speed? It already takes the latest system to run hi-res DOS games (1024x768, 800x600, etc) in DOSBOX, so I'm not too …

Re: DOSBox Project Name Change

I still think DOSBox is wholly appropriate since it emulates not only old PCs but also DOS itself. If they forced you to install real DOS or made it simulate Windows (instead of making you install real Windows) then maybe a name change would be due.

Re: Windows 7 ??

The XP mode in Win7 is a joke because (A) it emulates crap hardware, and (B) it connects to it via remote desktop so that the graphics and responsiveness are even worse. DOSBox works perfectly fine directly in Win7 (even under 64-bit) - no reason (and certainly no advantage) to running it in the XP …

Mine is from an anime named Iria: Zeiram the Animation that I decided to try because it matched the forum color scheme pretty well :p I'm not a huge anime fan, but for some reason I gravitate towards anime-related avatars.
