Sorry, I should have mentioned that there's one setting for total RAM in DOSBox that it uses for EMS/XMS/etc. Good test values include: 63MB, 32MB, 16MB, 8MB, 4MB, 2MB, 1MB

Yes, I see it in the CVS changelog: Copy code to clipboard 1 2005-01-12 13:44 qbix79 2 3 * src/ints/ems.cpp: Allocate memory changes handle only on succes. This was after 0.63 was released, however, so you'll need to use a CVS build to have the fix.

Try lowering the amount of EMS in your DOSBox config.

I meant video = multiple frames added to a moving something Ah, I see. The only software I know of for capturing video is FRAPS: http://www.fraps.com/ It requires Win2K/XP though, so you'd have to run it on your host system and record DOSBox running that way. Thanks for the screenshot 😀

What options are you using to mount the CD in DOSBox? You should be suing -t cdrom -ioctl on Win2K/XP to get maximum compatibility.

If the user has to make a judgement call in some cases as to whether or not composite mode should be used, it seems to me that it's worth considering adding the option to bind a hotkey for toggling composite output emulation on the fly (if this is possible).

You might try playing with the buffer size settings in your dosbox.conf to see if that helps. Are you sure you're not running anything in the background that would be hitting your CPU, sound card, or other hardware every 8 seconds? I was going to suggest checking for newer sound drivers at …

Yes. I played all sorts of DOS games under pure DOS and Win98SE with an AGP TNT1 and Geforce2MX.

Try running the installer on the CD-ROM using VDMSound and reinstalling the game. It's possible that it doesn't know where to find the CD due to having been installed in a different environment. Also, check for patches on dlh.net.

Of course, if you have a real MT-32 you can hook it up to your PC and DOSBox, SCUMMVM, etc. can use it directly.
