Re: Best portable device to use DOSBox on?

There should be at least a decent 1ghz x86 handheld out there. All x86 CPU implementations are big, power-consuming, and hot. The best that can be done with current, affordable technology is a laptop. I doubt that anyone could make one smaller than a PSOne: http://www.gaming-age.com/news3/may2k/ …

It's been two years already since VOGONS was slashdotted over canadacow's MT-32 emulator: http://yro.slashdot.org/yro/03/10/11/1833213.shtml Incidentally, who else has a slashdot account? I'd like to add some of you to my friends list 😀

Re: Sound cards - from best to worst

The high brass notes in the AWE32 recording sound like someone is stepping on a rodent. The SCD-15 recordings sound nice though. I'll have to compare them to the output from my SC-88. Does the SCD-15 have the same exact sample set as any of the SC- series synths? The SC-88 has both its own and SC-55 …

Re: 40 Column Text Mode Issues

Unfortunately not, even though I've been whining in my notoriously subtle way for quite some time. :) I think …

Re: 40 Column Text Mode Issues

Are you using the same computers and DOSBox sound buffer and sample rate configuration settings with comparing sound output in 0.63 and CVS? There is a possibility that you're unintentionally introducing the sound artifacts by using too small of a buffer or by having analog input lines unmuted on …

Re: Do you know some lighter/reliable cd/dvd burning tool?

in Milliways
Sounds kind of neat. Might have to check it out. Off topic (hey, it's Milliways): I totally need to get a DVD burner - I've managed to collect most of the LucasArts games supported by SCUMMVM (plus Beneath a Steel Sky) and they only add up to 2.15GB! In fact my entire d:\oldgames dumping ground is …
