Setting Win95 or Win98 compatability mode may help with some games. This issue has frustrated me a few times as well. Problem #1 was a hard one for me to figure out a couple years ago.

I think Gulikoza or someone was experimenting with building Glide emulation into DOSBox, so even if NTVDM become a no longer valid option others will step up to take its place.

I think 32MB is the max amount of memory that DOSBox can actually use. Also, try running some other games as it sounds like you might have a compatability problem between DOSBox and your computer rather than between Wasteland and DOSBox. Wasteland is a simple old game that doesn't use many resources …

That's some crazy old-school hardware mixed with modern stuff... The only comment I have is that you should probably try to take 8MB of RAM out of the second system and put it in the third so you have 32MB and 16MB instead of 40 and 8. Win95 needs at least 16 I think if you expect it to do anything. …

Also, the verification string seems to stay the same for a while, so you might at least be able to get someone else to tell you what it is (on a forum or in an email) and use it to download a few files before it changes. It's a crappy workaround but might work as a last resort.

There's no reason to. Just set the cycles setting lower in DOSBox and it will run slower.

I've heard that you have to run it as win /b (I think). Also, you may need to play with the EMS and/or XMS settings in your dosbox.conf. Playing with the core setting may also be necessary.
