Re: [Print rant] I hate you Microsoft

in Milliways
I feel like starting a flame war, so I'll say that it's actually a toss-up for me between DS9 and Babylon 5 as far as story-arc sci-fi series go. I had to sit down and watch B5 in order from the beginning for it to make sense though, and although I think a lot of the characters and story elements …

Re: Virtual modem port

I hope this all gets sorted out in CVS before the next release (if it hasn't already), because there is obviously a lot of interest in both direct serial and virtual modem features in DOSBox.

Re: output=Opengl for nVIDIA cards ONLY?

What OS are you running in? It's the compatability of the OS drivers for the card that are important, as DOSBox just uses SDL (or Direct3D if you're using gulikoza's D3D version, or OpenGL if you're using Moe's OpenGL-HQ stuff or output=opengl or output=openglnb). Also, what is the model name of …

Did you get it working then? Was it putting it in a dummy c:\config.sys that fixed it, or what? Might help others in the future to know how you solved it (if you did).

Re: Direct3D patch

As someone mentioned on g-productions' forum, Microsoft probably doesn't actually care whether you distribute it as long as you aren't selling it. As someone else mentioned, it'd be best to provide a link to the official MS version and then a patch or post-installer to make it work with MinGW32/MSYS …

Re: logo

Cool idea. Something more reminiscent of the original MT-32 logo or LED display might be cool too, although it's a less inspired logo IMO: http://www.dearhoney.idv.tw/MUSEUM/Roland_MT-32.jpg

My roommates' printer is a Lexmark Z45 color inkjet, which is the one whose bloated drivers talk to you whenever you print ("printing started" "printing complete"). I used to have a cheapo Compaq inkjet that was a relabeled Lexmark (don't remember the model number) that was a challenge to get …

Re: This program is absolutely amazing!

The original Sound Canvas module model number was SC-55, so you may see it referred to by that as well. Also, you can sometimes guess by the age of the game which standard a game is referring to by "Roland". Older games used the MT-32 (and compatables) while newer games tend to refer to the Sound …

Re: [Print rant] I hate you Microsoft

Printers and Windows just plain suck. The thing I hate is that the printer companies think that they have to make these super-fancy (meaning bloated and buggy) drivers containing stupid printing monitor applets that pop up whenever you print something to tell you how far the paper is through the …
