Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Hi everybody, The update for DBGL version 0.4 is available. Fixed a couple of bugs, but most importantly, it is now multiplatform. The Linux build was tested on Ubuntu Dapper Drake only, so please, if you're running on another distro let me know how it goes! Regards, Ronald the directory name …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

I don't understand why you're using 8.3 syntax for your mount-point? AFAIK, it is perfectly legal to use full pathname notation. So why not change that? I tried! I click browse under the mounting tab to find the file I want to direct to. That gives me the full pathname automatically. However, when …

C:\Games\DOSGam~1\Betray~1\KRONDOR.EXE I don't understand why you're using 8.3 syntax for your mount-point? AFAIK, it is perfectly legal to use full pathname notation. So why not change that? Also, the timesynched feature is missing from the Machine>Cpu section Sorry if I'm including too much. I …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

@Bouchacha: Thanks you for your compliments! About the 8.3 issue you mentioned; it should be working. Can you give me an example to reproduce the problem?! Thanks! To run the setup for a given profile, just press shift-enter (as in D-Fend). By the way, ctrl-enter brings up the profile-editing screen …

Re: D.O.G. First release.

What I don't get is the two startups? Why is that? It's a D-Fend bug, I spoke with Mabus Raeen about that some time ago. To reproduce: 1) create a test profile with automatic mount-point and store it 2) Now, when you add a mount point to this profile that is located on the same physical drive …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

This is why it would be nice if the PhysFS patch supported .rar/.7zip Amen to that  Bug report When adding a new DOSBox version (the 0.65 variant for example) When you select default the old default version stays on default as well (so you have 2 defaults...) Thank you Qbix, known issue, will …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Added upgrade to version 0.3: Profile list columns are resizable, reorderable and items can be sorted over any property (just click on the column header). Window size and position are stored across sessions. Thanks for the suggestions fellows, I will certainly look into them. Ronald

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

Downloading now... Good thing I've never bothered to setup profiles for my games otherwise I'd have alot of work to do. /Nelson Ha Ha! Avatar_58 You mean you just use/have .conf files for each and every game, right?! Would it be handy to have importing functionality for this situation as well? So …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

@ykhwong & Qbix: Maybe when we get so far that dosbox can exactly report on its features, such as physfs support, scalers that are supported and so on, we can use that in a front-end such as mine. For the moment, I don't really see the usefulness of retrieving only it's version number, unless I'm …

Re: New DOSBox Frontend - DOSBox Game Launcher

... Any plans on setting up a CVS-repository for this? Hehe, well, I have CVSNT running at home, specifically for this project. But I guess you mean setting up something like a SourceForge project for this?! I think that may be a good idea if there is interest from the community. If you know how to …

Re: Front Ends

Hi all, D-Fend is my point-of-reference as well. May I suggest to take a look here DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend) ?! I hope we can somehow combine all the good ideas and intentions, to finally come up with one killer front-end app. Regards, Ronald

DOSBox Game Launcher (DOSBox Frontend)

Hi everybody, Seems like a lot of people are thinkin' about DOSBox front-ends, lately. Looking at myself, I've been using D-Fend with great pleasure for over 1 and a half years. Unfortunately, I started noticing a couple of shortcomings and bugs in D-Fend as time went by. So, coincidentally, only a …
