Re: No Sound in Theme Hospital

I have no idea where you installed Theme Hospital to, but you don't need to edit any Theme Hospital config files. Theme Hospital puts the savegames under the SAVE directory under where ever you installed it to. Just mount some directory to C: and the cd-rom to D:, run the installer from D: in dosbox …

Re: No Sound in Theme Hospital

Then I edited the config file for TH to save to: SAVE_OVERRIDE=C:\dosbox But when I try to save in game, it says it is unable to save. How Can i fix this? Don't do that. c:\dosbox\ becomes c:, so from the perspective of the programs running in dosbox there is no c:\dosbox\.

Re: DOS VGA Emulation, difficult to do?

There is no working implementation of this. Yes, somebody recently attempted a proof of concept, but it is far from complete and, if not done properly, it won't just "not work" but can actively destroy data. There's no way that'll end up in core DOSBox without those decidedly non-trivial things …

Re: Emulate PC Speaker with Soundcard

in DOSBox General
Bad news. I don't think my approach fixes pops in Wizardry 7. I managed to coax data out of dosbox: I get a data file with all the pc speaker transitions between high and low and a timestamp for each transition. I process that file outside of dosbox into a 48KHz sound file. Unfortunately the pops …

Re: Resolution and scaling in text mode

in DOSBox General
And the black bars are flickering (from black to completely transparent, revealing what's below the DOSBox window. Hmm, I've got the same problem. I wonder why the native text-mode that I see in full-screen text-mode applications, and when my computer boots, looks very good. Another idea. Try …
