Yep. I've already unpacked the EXE file. Time to get out my trusty debugger and see if I can find what's going on here. I've been doing that a lot lately, fixing bugs in old games. I suppose I should set up a patch archive.

So much for Bethesda: "Delta V is not supported in Windows XP, I gather you already know that. There is not much we can do to help you here. We sent the documentation we have and that is the limit of the support we can give for this title." Oh well, didn't expect much anyway.

Lowering cycles won't help. LIT synchs its cutscenes to the Q channel from CD audio playback. DOSBox doesn't seem to support that. The second cutscene, when talking to the time agent, does indeed crash.

VDMSound has a file called MT2GM.MAP which contains the mapping. I suppose DOSBox could be made to incorporate a similar MIDI mapping feature.

I get the distortion when talking to Aruba through the hole behind the poster (the cutscene plays way too fast, without any sync to the audio). Haven't tried any further. The games list mentions that the cdrom should be mounted with -ioctl, but that doesn't make a difference in my case.

Well, admittedly, Bethesda replied quickly, but is was as useless as expected. Just the standard drivel of making a bootdisk. I don't think they've even heard of DOSBox or VDMSound.

I've tried sb1,sb2,sbpro1,sbpro2 and sb16 for the type and IRQs 5 and 7. All give the same result. What's weird is that other games using the Miles sound drivers work perfectly. I've e-mailed Bethesda Softworks' support department but, to be honest, I don't really expect much help from them.

It only has VGA320x200x256 and a B&W driver (which also doesn't display the intro, replacing it with the text).

I tried using DOSBox 0.61's SDL.dll will the new version. No effect. (Although I doubt SDL could actually predict future frames). Disabling the sound also disables the intro (it switches to displaying text only, no movie). Tried different sound card drivers. Again, no effect.

So much for that theory 😢 Disabling EMS yields no improvement, nor does telling the game's installer "don't use your machine's extra memory". BTW, HunterZ, I appreciate your thinking along.
