Re: Is DOSBox Daum dead?

The save-state patch would probably be handy; I don't think anyone has posted a new binary that includes that yet. The menu patch is neat, but I for one have never thought of it as particularly useful – that is one whose origins I am not familiar with. Do all of the options really work?

Re: Battle For Naboo- No Sound in XP?

in Windows
Have you ever been able to get the game to run correctly, i.e. by disabling sound entirely? I might suggest trying to get a cheap USB sound device. (There's not necessarily anything wrong with those.)

Re: Good emulators in DOS

NES - NESticle X.XX is my main choice here. The reason being, NESticle was a THE go-to, must have, can-do-it-all NES emulator, and the in-numbered X.XX version is the most compatible, Dragon Warrior IV runs on it, which is my litmus test as Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest IV is the biggest, trickiest …

Re: Patching old DOS game to make it work on faster computers

in DOS
I'm no expert i in assembly language, so how difficult would it be to add some kind of delay to the game loop of the game? About as difficult as becoming an expert in assembly language. The DOS version of the game is about 40 kbytes in size, so it should not be so difficult to make it work …

Re: Good emulators in DOS

Re: Ok UMB and PFS problem

I am concerned we are having a failure to communicate here. If you are using the Windows XP command prompt on the other computer, then that is definitely not the same (not even "technically" the same) as using DOSBox, even though it may look the same.

Re: Rogue Squadron CPU compatibility

in Windows
Considering the game is still for sale on GOG and Steam, I would expect it to have no speed issues, or at least no unpatchable ones. (On that note, you should presumably be able to get it to run on any modern PC, if you wanted to.)

Re: Ok UMB and PFS problem

Yes the exact same thing just one is xp and one is windows 7 ( I loaded dosbox and followed the tutorial and I'm in ) So did you load DOSBox on the XP machine like you did in Windows 7? Can you post a screenshot of the program running on your XP machine? If you are using DOSBox on your XP machine, …
