Re: Favorite MIDI game soundtracks?

Does FF7 count? :P I'd say so. IIRC, it was composed for the Yamaha XG MIDI standard.. Surely it was composed with the PSX synth in mind? Though it definitely gave me a new impression of what MIDI was capable of. Dare to Dream has stuck with me for quite some time. The documentation hyped up the …

How about SRWare Iron? They seem pretty determined. https://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php But indeed, tracking methods get quite ingenious these days. http://boingboing.net/2016/09/06/how-surveill … italism-tr.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_(web_browser) Thats a dead page. Nothing's there you know... :blah: The auto URL converter removes trailing parentheses. If you copy and paste the URL it works fine. Or just click here . Privacy as in being immune to Google spying/tracking and the like. AKA …

Re: Corrupt VGA Graphics, Please Help Me

4. Therefor the card must be defective. The card is probably working exactly as it was intended to – it's just that the manufacturers didn't expect anyone would be running ancient DOS stuff. (A very common problem is that cards dropped support for the 8x14 font, such that many old DOS programs that …

I doubt it's an hardware failure because nero cd player can correctly play audio tracks. I'm confused. Are you running nero cd player on your "windows98se retropc" as well? Sometimes strange problems are produced by programs adding lines to the "Upperfilters" and "Lowerfilters" registry keys. …

Re: DOS/98 KVM dilemma.

Seems to me there's no reason you can't just live with two mice. Wireless mice are cheap these days; you can just chuck it somewhere when you don't need it. The DOS machine is a Pentium @ 200MHz, standard serial port, support for a single PS/2 port but not plugged in due to incorrect internal plug ( …

Re: I have CPU emu question.

sorry i may be noob at this specific, the only thing i see NTVDM uses actual CPU Hz, dosbox emulates CPU "inside CPU"!?!? how that works, and it feels like i need option to emulate CPU and run on actual CPU If I'm not mistaken, DOSBox needs to constantly interrupt the CPU emulation to do things …

Cdplayer.exe from my windows98se retropc, it runs but it cannot identify audiocd discs, it says "please insert audiocd". Your drive may be experiencing hardware failure. You should see if audio CDs still play in DOS or from a Linux-based player like Geexbox or MoviX. Wmp9 correctly see disc as …

Re: I have CPU emu question.

It's the "core" setting in DOSBox.conf: CPU Core used in emulation. auto will switch to dynamic if available and appropriate. There are a few very rare cases in which it has been useful to specify the normal core instead of the dynamic core.
