Re: Printing in Dosbox to file, not a printer

Im working in a designing office and were working on a self-written programme that we used until win10 came along. In win7 we used Microsoft Virtual PC and all worked well. But Win10 does not supports Virtual PC, so we decided to go to Dosbox with hope to work it out ... That's probably not a good …

Re: VMWare Workstation graphic drivers

in PC Emulation
Sorry I did not consider these info as useful since problems are in vitual machine. The 3D hardware in VMware still effectively uses the 3D hardware in your main system. If there is something wrong with your ATI 5870, then using VMware may not necessarily solve the problem. Probably GOG version is …

Re: VMWare Workstation graphic drivers

in PC Emulation
More information is needed. What is your graphics card? What is your main OS? What OS are you running in VMware? Is there something in particular that leads you to believe that these games "are not working in my native PC due mainly to drivers" ? Fahrenheit in particular is available on GOG (and …

Re: Space Quest IV CD-ROM audio

in DOS
Anyway, I'd thought about including an IPS patch as an alternate way to apply the changes, but the couple of IPS tools I tried won't work with files larger than 16 MB. However, I think a Windows patching utility that can apply the "difference" to a 160 MB file would suit your purpose quite well, …

Re: Dosbox on xbox 1

I mention this because I would like to install windows 95 on my xbox as well (I have a copy of the OS). No one here will tell you that running Windows 95 in DOSBox is a good idea. While playing around on the internet, I came across a site that has over 2,000 msdos games Yes, you are hardly the …

Re: The Last Express (GOG Version)

Maybe the problem is that the device is a retropie (=Raspberry Pi) and the game is one of the last dos games (1997!).... That is very unlikely. At worst, it would only work slowly. If it works on Windows, it should work under Linux on your Pi, unless somehow you're using a very different version of …

Re: The Last Express (GOG Version)

I than make an startup script which changes to c:/tlw and executes the game file express.exe If that was supposed to work, then the GOG script would include a "cd tlw" command. Evidently in this case you need to mount /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc/TLE (presumably the directory that includes express.exe …

Re: You don´t know Jack 3 Windows 3.x????

It seems to me much more likely that they're just guessing and have no idea how they would get a game from twenty years ago running in Windows 3.x. That said, if http://stephan.win31.de/w32slist.htm is any indication, this probably isn't a DOSBox problem. I might guess that it would be possible to …

Re: The Last Express (GOG Version)

Hotte76 wrote: GOG does just the obvious things: Okay, so why aren't you doing the same thing..? Evidently the game loads its data directly from these .HPF files, which might not be standard CD images at all. When you say "mount the complete data-folder", what exactly are you mounting?

Re: Druuna Morbus Gravis

in Windows
So you're using Windows 10 now? Some problems have been reported in other games due to Safedisc being incompatible with newer versions of Windows. Re: Wizardry 8 used to work, but now it crashes on startup.

Re: Druuna Morbus Gravis

in Windows
By all accounts this is a spectacularly awful game. Are you using an original disk? If you're using a version you illegally downloaded from somewhere, it could easily be incomplete, or you might be encountering a copy protection mechanism.
