Re: Farting CD music in DOSBox

There is no reason to expect a USB CD-ROM drive to behave any differently. The problem is happening even using imgmount in DOSBox and accordingly is completely independent of your CD-ROM hardware. As Dominus suggested, "something is not right with your machine it seems". Like I said before, you …

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 scroll

I've never heard of anyone trying to fix scrolling and framerate issues in DOSBox by changing the refresh rate or custom resolution. I wouldn't expect a CRT or TFT to make any difference either. Whatever the problem is, it's probably something else. Are you saying the GOG version has exactly the …

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 scroll

The only other thing I can think of is to change the machine type – maybe vesa_oldvbe or vesa_nolfb . A cputype of 486_slow or pentium_slow might be worth trying too. If you want to do some experimenting, I notice GOG is selling MK 1+2+3 (they're the DOS versions) for two bucks at the moment.

Re: Farting CD music in DOSBox

Needless to say, this is not a problem anyone else seems to have. Perhaps you have something running in Windows that does some sort of post-processing on your audio? Does it make a difference if you use speakers or headphones to listen? At this point I might be inclined to suggest booting up with a …

Re: Cyberman + Dosbox

USB to RS232 adapters are very unreliable; generally onboard serial ports or PCI serial cards are the way to go. If you still have a Win9x machine kicking around I would suggest first verifying that the USB to RS232 adapter works with your Cyberman there.
