ratfink wrote: Big problem for me is eBay crashes ff on both 7 and xp, occasionally when logging in. Requiring a reboot to fix as ending the process does nothing. Didn't you bring this up in another thread..? Given that it is eBay in particular, it sounds a lot like some kind of malware infection.

Re: RAM disks: software, usage, functionality

in PC Emulation
We were just talking about RAM disks in the Firefox thread , but I guess that's a little more modern than what you're looking at. I hear XMSDISK, endorsed by Uwe Sieber, is the way to go as far as DOS/Win9x is concerned. And yes, you can even control which part of RAM it uses, apparently. http:// …

SRWare Iron, for instance. http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php Isn't using a ramdisk for a browser by …

Re: SC2000 and SCURK

When you say "It says to put all the files in the same directory", what do you mean by "it" ? If you downloaded SCURK from anywhere other than www.gog.com/gamecard/simcity_2000_special_edition , you might be missing files.

I'm quite happy with FF these days. I used to have problems with jerky frames a long time ago, but that's when I had a lot more tabs open, and nowadays I use the "Don't load tabs until selected" setting, so resource consumption appears to remain reasonable. Really, every browser should have had that …

Re: styrofoam as protection for pins

I was posting about this a while ago. I never did find a decent, cheap source for foam. Shipping a CPU I have some grey stuff that I scavenged from a computer store and from laser printer cartridge packing, but I doubt it is conductive.
