Is your desktop normally running at a 16:9 resolution? I found out a while ago that Popcap's games do not scale properly unless the desktop resolution is 4:3 before the game is launched. (It's some really weird, old DirectX thing not supported by nvidia's drivers.)

Perhaps you should try running it from its own folder instead of the Windows directory? (Putting random things in C:\WINDOWS has never, ever been a good idea.)

It's possible that the images do not use the standard FAT12 format, in which case the only way you might get something to understand the contents is indeed to boot from them. You can do that in DOSBox with the BOOT command, though whether Xenix will be able to do anything in the limited DOSBox …
