Wait, do you mean "DOS mode", or an MS-DOS prompt with Win9x still loaded? As I recall, the readme for Epic Pinball suggests the developers went out of their way to make the program run properly under Windows 3.1. (Maybe it's a PIT timer thing, or something?)
