Re: (Ebay)US International postage prices?

in Milliways
Of the many, many packages I've received from outside of Canada over the years, the one time I've had anything like customs fees was with a game from Play-Asia – and even then, it was only five bucks in sales tax. Then again, I think most of those packages were well under $100 in value, if not less. …

Re: Thrustmaster Emulation

DOSBox does not support RCS (which would overlap with the hat and/or third axis) or the Thrustmaster digital programming mode (which would allow the rudder, extra buttons on the throttles or more advanced joysticks to work) If I'm not mistaken, none of those features were generally supported by DOS …

So, would you say the same thing about GOG? Lots of stuff there is even older than 13 years. Even though the original publishers are willing to license the games and people are willing to pay for them, do you think they should be free just because they're more than 13 years old?

Hey look, CDAccess.com still has a few copies in stock. http://www.cdaccess.com/html/quick/darkstpr.htm So, there you go. By downloading the game, one is depriving CDAccess.com of the $20 + S&H to which they are otherwise entitled. That's about the most compelling argument one can make in the face …

Re: Parallel port and DOSbox

That doesn't look like a config file; that looks like part of the documentation. Your config file is C:\Documents and Settings\admquinn\Local Settings\Application Data\DOSBox\dosbox-SVN_MB6.conf , like it says. The config file will have a section preceded by "[parallel]". There are many threads …

For some reason http://www.cdaccess.com is still around, at least. It's kind of surprising they've endured for so long. Maybe they just want to sell off those hundreds of copies of Terra Nova.

I never quite understood this notion of a "gift". "Selling? Oh, no. You see, this nice guy I communicated with online was kind enough to send me a donation of $20! To return his considerate gesture, I'm sending him this nice widget in which he expressed an interest!"

You'll want to get something that can work with MP3 data directly, as decompressing and re-compressing the file can diminish quality. (It's probably imperceptible, mind you, but it happens just the same.) MP3DirectCut is what I usually go for, since I can remember its name.

Re: Retro 98SE Gaming PC

The Drive specs I'm looking to do with this machine is to have two Hard drives, two optical drives, two 3.5 floppy drives, and two 5.25 floppy drives. the reason for this configurations, is not just for games, but also for dubbing the older floppy games to CD/DVD, and to back-up CD/DVD old games, …

Re: Using CD Images with MS-DOS Hard Drive Image

Great Hierophant wrote: Supposing one had a DOS directory on the hard drive, how could you point the installer in the direction of those files? (AUTOEXEC PATH variable) DOSBox supports PATH. There's nothing special about it that requires autoexec.bat, y'know. http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/PATH
