The P100 does have a lower TDP than the MMX, so it might not run as hot. I'd say guetto-mod a fan nearby and be happy.

AFAIK for the address lines exposed on the ISA slots are active high. A quick look at Sergei's schematics seems to confim that (ROM chip being enabled when A16-A19 are high)

AFAIK a bunch of TTL logic is used on many expansion boards, and Sergei's turbo XT SBC uses 74LS (or 74HCT) glue logic for just about everything. For TTL 0-0.8V is low, 2.2-5V is high. Everything in between is undefined.

Yes, but while cheap USB->MIDI interfaces are fine for MIDI out, I've seen people commenting they are not so good for MIDI input. Good ones (like the Roland UM-ONE I have) work perfectly.

Yeah, the SBLive and many PCI cards emulate the MPU-401 interface and redirect it to its synth. Some better than others.

This is probably due to poor shielding somewhere. I have a machine or two where, depending on how the wires at the back are positioned, I get a simillar effect. Moving the mouse cable away from stuff helps.

The motherboard doesn't have to do anything but expose the two multiplier pins of the processor. It can't artificially limit it to 2.5. If it supports 2.5 then it MUST expose the two pins defined by the Socket 7 specs (Socket 5 only defined one pin to choose between 1.5 and 2.0).
