Re: NEW iPhones

in Milliways
It's not baseless at all. I have the opinions of people I have spoken to or overheard, and the opinions and wishes I've read on various forums I have that too. I also have the knowledge of what the people with better data than me prioritize (mobile manufacturers) . Plus a quick Google search also …

Re: NEW iPhones

True, but it is a fair indicator. I'm sure most people the world over use phones the same way that my acquaintances do; to send and read texts, to make phone calls (obviously!, to check Facebook and Twitter and other 'social' media, to quickly look up something to settle an argument, to check on …

Re: NEW iPhones

I think for most people, all they want in a new phone is basically the same phone as the one they have now, but with much better battery life, and maybe, but not a deal-breaker, more data storage capacity. For a reasonable price. Not a slightly redesigned case or shape, not a load of new apps and …

With the newest version Populous: The Beginning doesn't need any workarounds for the mouse to stop lagging, though it feels like it's only responding at 30 FPS. I'm going to test that more later. Icewind Dale II doesn't have cursor flickering anymore, but the mouse is unbearably laggy in inventory …

Sure it would be nice if it run on 32-bit / XP / 1-core CPUs. But asking the developers to dedicate time to that is unreasonable. The reason Quake 4 had lower system requirements was because it was released in 2005 where being asked to support 32-bit / XP / 1-core CPUs was reasonable. I'm waiting on …

Re: 1440p monitors and scaling lower resolutions

1440 SHOULD be a good res to scale, 2x 720, 3x 480, 1.5x 960 What? No. The others are fine, but a 1.5x scale gives you no advantages whatsoever. Also worth noting that 16x9 480p is slightly problematic (2560 / 3 doesn't work). Not a big deal if you can use custom resolutions though. but who knows …

And that's besides the fact that I find it subjectively unpleasant and disorienting; there's a reason people get prescription glasses when they need them. While it might not be very relevant to the point you were making, I still want to point out a technical (sort of difference), since well you did …
