Re: Why do modern video games suck so badly part two

in Milliways
The problem is that it is substantially more likely for a game to be a waste of your money then what it was ages ago, back then you had the whole first portion of the official game as a demo. Now you're lucky to get the first level of the official game, now a days you get some "test level" that …

Re: Why do modern video games suck so badly part two

The probelem these days aside from copy protection? back in the 90's there was what? 5 or 10 good games per year and 50 bad games? now there's 5 or 10 good games and 200 bad games per year? With that in mind, chances for a good game to get overlooked these days is pretty high and this does nothing …

Re: wolf 3d and Blood

in DOS
actually you needed to run wolf3d.exe -GOOBERS to get debug mode in later versions IIRC.

Re: Dungeon Keeper Gold

in Windows
Try the D3D patch . It looks much better than the software version, and worked OK for me under XP. Should work with the "Gold" version of DK, too. in Milliways
Hello, is there a way to play Midi files in Vista using General Midi instead of Wavetable synthesis? I use a Creative XFI Extreme Music sound card running the latest drivers and software. Quake 1 is probably the most atmospheric game I've played, it really did feel like you were in some kind of hellish place with terrible monsters lurking around each corner, it also featured some rather nifty booby traps for the unaware player and some nice secrets ;) quake 2 completely changed it …

DOSBox CUDA?

Hello, sorry if this was already asked. How feasible is it to move DOS emulation to CUDA? would it result in any performance gains? (I'm not sure if it would since GPU's excel in the field of parallel processing)

Re: Mass Effect PC to require Activation (Mother f'ing EA)

in Milliways
Ok, I have changed my stance, I hate Online Activation a lot now! Why the change? I learned you can't get EBGames 7 day guarantee with games that require Online Activation because once the game is activated, it can't be installed on any other machine. I am of course talking about the activation in …

Re: new opl3 emulator

You can't stop the current song, so you can not change tracks while a song is playing. (in your demonstration on your site) the top most example file distorts noticably. EDIT: in Firefox 3.0.3 & Java 6 update 7, refreshing the page closes the brwser unexpectedly (the crash handler pops up when …
