What's strange is that they're using 0.60 as their build. No GUS, very little 386 instruction support, etc. Odd.

Doh. Fixed my own problem. Just committed some final patches to the S3 XGA code to the CVS tree. In particular, this should fix the mouse problems. Let me know if you guys see any other visual anomalies.

I was aware of the mouse issue when I posted it to the CVS :disapproving: . It has to do with the raster drawing code being ambiguous as to what line its on. The following lines of code are the offending parts: Qbix, Harekiet, what is the proper method for detecting what line the video card is on? …

I've got the S3 video driver for Windows 3.1 nearly compatible. I'll be posting my new code to the CVS (ready for 0.64) fairly soon here.

I've checked the current builds and I can't seem to replicate the error everyone is having with the virtual modem stuff. I'll keep trying though. But yes, when its operating normally the virtual modem should produce a RING on receipt of a connection and autoconnect if the modem was setup that way …

That's a BIOS call to the serial port. BIOS and DOS calls are not supported as of the present version. Only a program that directly accesses the serial port works.

Probably the better thing to do is up the emulated cycles in DosBox and then try running the install program again. Since you have a decent machine, it should be able to handle a higher number of cycles. Eventually, the X-Wing install will configure itself to automatically be set to the "FAST" …

Its because Creative Labs changed some of the specifics regarding the interface for the Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster Pro and Sound Blaster 16 between versions.

After enabling it in the config file and making sure the lines read: modem=true comport=2 listenport=23 The current version works just fine.

Ok. I've committed the fix to the CVS. Mind you it required only a single file to change (drive_fat.cpp) so if you just update that one you should be good to go. Still no DOS error codes... I plan to get those over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Take care everyone!

Yeah, this sounds great. I'm going to have to check it out. Ultimately the linkable library could make things even easier for writing an NT driver (if you haven't already). I'm sorry I haven't kept up with things... I've been rather busy, as usual.

Both fossil and comport access through the DOS device drivers is not available in DosBox. I'm fairly sure the lack of these two things is what's causing your problems. Only direct serial access works inside DosBox.

Could be one of two things: 1) Something is already running on port 213. Try a different port. 2) Your computer can't obtain its IP information for some reason. Let me know if this helps.
