Re: DOSBox 0.73 Discussion

The installer for Down in the Dumps crashes with a divide-by-zero error (handled by DOS4GW). It tries to calcuate the performance of the CDROM with a series of random sector reads (INT 2F/AX=1508). When using a disc image, it's faster than the program allows for. Using a real CD device might not …

Re: MT-32 on latest DosBox

Are you using an old config file with 0.73? A lot has changed, so you should create a new one with the settings you want (see the readme for instructions if you need them). The "config=" midi setting was changed to "midiconfig=" so it wouldn't conflict with DOSBox's internal CONFIG command.

Re: Jurassic Park (Ocean)

I get the slow motion when joystick is enabled in the game's setup (INSTALL.EXE), but the speed is normal when the joystick is disabled. Maybe the config file is messed up somehow, and a fresh start would help: in INSTALL.EXE, press ESC to get to the quit menu and choose "restore defaults".

Re: Chronomaster crashes

Works OK for me on 0.72 with an image. The compatibility list mentions a crash when landing on a planet with an old version of DOSBox, so make sure you're using the latest version. Otherwise, provide more details about how you are mounting your drives and installing the game.

Re: Problems with german files

There's an old thread about this game and issue: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=4800 As Qbix points out in that thread, it's fairly easy to modify the DOS_MakeName() function in dos_files.cpp to add characters that you would like to have in your own build of DOSBox. The accented letter …

Re: System Shock Batch file

DOSBox does not treat the %0 operator identical to real DOS, it changes the extension on the filename. You can see the effect of this by creating a batch file that has the line "ECHO %0" in it. Real DOS returns the name of the batch file for %0 exactly as you typed it, but DOSBox 0.72 adds the …
