So the card itself maybe just doesn't have the quality of my now-dead 6800 [which wasnt bluyrry with the same cabling]? Thats a pity. I'm also wondering why it won't do a desktop resolution higher than 1600x1200. Maybe I have overlooked something.

Not sure my post was all that clear - in case it helps, its my perception that the screen is blurry in Windows 7 at least and I'm pretty sure there's a problem round the edges [again in Windows 7].
