Re: pixelated video in warcraft 3

in Windows
Yeah I tried lower resolutions but I couldn't see any difference in the cutscenes, I'll try again later this week. It doesn't support glide but you can use opengl instead of directx. Though the opengl version was supposed to be not as good iirc.

Yes I am referring to the cut scenes. I'm not using a widescreen monitor, it's a 4:3 crt hence using 1600x1200 on the hd4850. I didn't realise the cutscenes were 640x480 so I guess it could just be blowing that up; somehow I imagined that sort of thing was just like DVD footage. [Or is that also …

pixelated video in warcraft 3

in Windows
I'm playing warcraft 3 on this: win 7 pro 64 phenom x4 hd4850 21" lacie crt The game looks great at 1600x1200 but the video clips look very pixelated [areas of similarish coloration look like they are made from blocks]. Any ideas? I'm using catalyst 2010.0527.1242.20909.

Re: Windows NT 4.0

I suppose this isn't one of those instances when you need to do fdisk/mbr to get the system to boot. Seem to recall having to do that to get rid of grub as [some] windows install procedures seem to leave it in place. All beyond me.

Re: Phoenix ATX-G P4-with-ISA-board

I bought one recently, but havent used it, just got it as a spare. But iirc someone on this forum uses one... Kreshna maybe? Ah, here's what I was thinking of, looks like riboflavin has a similar model too: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=14446 As to benchmarking: I'm happy to do some when I …

Trouble is that after mp, sp can seem very lonely. But mp seems to easily turn into a piece of social network software with a thin veneer of lacklustre gaming. What I dislike [but fully understand] is too much consumer research in game refinement. I think designers should do things we think are …

I wonder... - How good is the linux experience going to be on that? Seems a bit slow and limited. - What school kids do they imagine will be interested? Use of windows at school means homework easily picked up at home etc... Maybe it's aimed more at the IT or electronics specialists than all kids. I …

The Chieftec used 8 Watt when the PC was turned off, which is like double the average. Now that's a wake-up call, I've been leaving 7 pc's plugged in all the time. Actually 8 with my son home. So that's probably wasting of the order of 30 watts [assuming average psu's]? I better put the surge …

Re: Windows NT 4.0

What would be the latest era of hardware generally supporting nt4... p3 and early athlon? PS. I just shifted a hard drive from a bx-based dual celeron system to a tualatin on a via board. Surprised me, nt4 booted fine. Not having the arcane knowledge, I'd assumed that like 2000 it would take it's …
