Re: Maniac Mansion

Same problem with "zak mak kracken and the alien mindbenders". The mouse does not respond. Works with keyboard, but not very comfortable. ZakMak is also reported as "supported" in the dosbox games archive. So I'm hopeful it is not a dosbox problem and can be solved?

Maniac Mansion

Why does the mouse cursor in maniac mansion (1) not respond? I have tried it with different cpu cores ... . In the dosbox games compatibility list the game is described as "supported".

Re: Perversion (Windows 386, aka Windows 2.1)

in DOS
I'm not sure, but ... Maybe 32 MB of RAM on your real 486 sx are too much? Remember that at the time windows 2.1/386 was released there was almost no machine equipped with even only 4 MB of RAM.

Maybe interesting to you: When I try to run "pc-shell" (the norton commander equivalent of the pctools) in dosbox (today's cvs-build, I downloaded it from "dosbox cafe", your patch already added), there is a message like "fat error" or something. But the problem is that you have to enter this command at the command prompt each time you want to "switch floppies". Might it be possible to add …

astonishing progress ...

I just want to say thank you to the developers of dosbox for the rapid steps dosbox currently takes to become more and more compatible, especially with windows 3.x and dynamic core. I always try to get the latest cvs-builds, and I think a remarkable speed and compatibility increase has been achieved …

perfect game emulator = perfect dos/win31 emulator?

I have often heard the statement (especially in this forum) that dosbox is a game emulator and is not meant as a overall dos/win31 emulator. Actually, I am no expert at this, but I have the following thoughts about this: 1. Every dos game is actually also a dos PROGRAM 2. The more dos games can …
