what is your dosbox version and where have you got it from? what is your Operating System? what are your PC specifications? do other games work properly? post content of "DOSBox Status Window" (in Windows: right click on its title bar -> edit) enclose your dosbox's config file post your mount lines …

irq5 may indicate not running setup setup may contain some controller/calibration settings

LAPC-I is definitely not a first generation module Actually the game is not compatible with every MT-32 (not just first gen) as it uses sound effects not available in MT-32 but available in CM-32L/LAPC-I

Dominus he is using irq5, he doesn't know the basics, talking with him makes not sense untill he reads the simple guide... as you don't know what other crazy things he is doing

games he mentioned are for 286 and 386 so his PC should be enough. also his previous conf was totally ducked up and also running emulator inside another emulator doesn't help performance too..
