Are you running intro.exe directly? Game is probably started using a different executable (or batch file). You should issue a DIR command in the XCOM directory.

I have remember other two games where you are better selecting MCGA rather than VGA. In this case, speed related. - THE IMMORTAL (By Will Harvey). Use command-line option - OPERATION WOLF (Taito). Run with r parameter. In both games, selecting MCGA makes them run faster/better and with no quality …

Maybe the program expects to be located at directory bca. If so, you should do a mount c c:\ (even if it's not advised). And then, change to that directory. Z:\>c: C:\>cd bca

At first sight, the program doesn't seem freeware or public domain to me, but I haven't tested it yet. There is a file with some codes apparently meant for bypassing some sort of doc-check protection.

If game runs under DOSBox it's a MS-DOS game, not a Windows one. By the way. What did you try for DOSBox? Tried any recent CVS?

Same for me here. Using PCJr mode. I believe Tandy mode is the same as CGA in this game (it's there just for compatibility reasons, but who knows). It also supports special CGA mode Amstrad PC1512 had (which if I recall correctly had 16c in low resolution). Anyway the scroll is broken and game …

That VESA option is actually a misnomer in VDMSound. It just means "run in fullscreen mode". Nothing VESA related. What videocard do you have? VESA mode 0101h is 640x480x256c. Tried other options in the compatibility tab? force 640x480 mode? disabling themes? And what about DOSBox?

Tried ALL different compatibility modes? Sometimes it works using another setting (even if it seems odd).

Supaplex works fine for me under DOSBox 0.65 on my AMD Sempron 3000+ FullResolution=1280x1024 WindowResolution=1024x768 output=overlay core=normal cycles=auto
