ldd2871 As we are talking above, just DELETE UNIVBE.DRV after configuring the program. Then, run it as usual. It should work. You don't need any kind of external VESA anymore. DOSBox has built-in VESA bios extensions (up to 1024x768 resolution).

The main executable uses DOS4G and it seems it has univbe embedded into it. At least there is a "univbe.drv" string present. I will try to disable it to see what happens. I don't know. It probably uses VESA for accessing SVGA modes. It doesn't have support for native videocards. This is just a wild guess.

If your program uses VESA for SVGA modes and you have a newer nVIDIA card, YOU MAY BE OUT OF LUCK. Modern nVIDIA cards are known to have troubles using VESA modes …

You should try a CVS build with several SVGA chipsets implemented. I think Ykhwong's will do.

Version from Underdogs seems to work just fine under DOSBox 0.65.

I disagree. Front-ends should be separate downloads. It would be a nice idea to put some links on DOSBox page though.

Don't you know how to open an ms-dos box? I think there is a link already at Accesories > Command Prompt If not > Execute > cmd.exe You need to have certain ms-dos knowlege for it, though (like changing drives and invoking programs).

Same here. You need very low cycles (3000-) to hear AdLib sounds. But the space key remains stuck for me too. Tried 0.65 and 0.65ß1 (same behaviour). EDIT: Game is playable using VDMSound.

Try installing the game using NTVDM first. If installation succeedes, use DOSBox to play.

I had a Covox Soundmaster+ in my 8086. I think it had the same midi chip Adlib had. 100% Adlib compatibility but too little games using the analog DAC, Alone in the dark to name one.
