You could try installing Windows 3.1 on a DOSBox CVS but I guess the game would run slow. Search the forum for more info.

You don't need any command to activate VESA. It is used automatically when detected (if all goes well). Just grab a cvs version.

VESA bios extensions don't have nothing to do with VESA Local Bus (VLB). The first ones are code to access SVGA modes and the last one is a type of bus like ISA, PCI, etc.

Hello, Leonor , Welcome to the forum. You should try a CVS version (a ßeta version newer than 0.63) because a lot of things have changed since 0.63 was released. E.g. Ykhwong´s build And check the autolock line inside dosbox.conf (This is a plain text file containing the configuration for DOSBox).

Agreed. Besides, nowadays you can even boot from USB pendrives, so floppies aren't needed that much anymore.

I have two suggestions: 1.- Make BIN/CUE or NRG (Nero) images from the original CDs and use them from a virtual drive (such as Daemon Tools). It uses NONE, but I think it emulates ms-dos 5.0 (correct me if I am wrong).

Yeah, if it's a boot-only virus you won't get infected by copying the files. Copy all files to another floppies. Test the copy and then reformat (destroying) the infected floppies. If installation floppy is a booter, you'll have to clean it first, or run sys x: y: to transfer boot record.

Forget about getting illegal software here. It's not allowed. On the other hand, DOSBox is FREE. You should give it a whirl.

What videocard do you have? Video cutscenes seem to work just fine the way I described above for my ATi Radeon X800GTO Did you try the 640x480 thingy in the compatibility tab?

But DOSBox VESA support cannot go beyond 800x600 (at least for official 0.63). I think he should try a CVS version which may have improved VESA support.
