Hi, not really a game question but..

I am interested to know if anyone has info on possibly connecting a Keyspan USA-28X (twin serial, Mac 8 pin RS422) and using it with DOSBox.

The reason being I'm trying to use DOSBox to run some old DOS based datalogger control software. The software runs all OK, and looks for the datalogger hardware on COM1 and then COM2 but I think DOSBox somehow needs to be told to look for the Keyspan emulated serial ports.

Keyspan drivers are instaled under OS-X.

Alternatively, I can just restart into Windows (via BootCamp) and use a PC compatible serial-USB adapter - but running in DOSBox would be so much sweeter because I spend 99% of my time in MacOS.

Thanks,

Ashley

Have you checked out the DOSBox Preferences configuration file (in ~/library/preferences/)? It's a text file which DOSBox checks upon opening. There's a section in it for assigning COM ports, under the heading [serial]. You should be able to point DOSBox to your device there.

Thank you,
