Fabien made some fixes to the VDP2 emulation in Satourne, and now Virtua Fighter Remix loads, Nicht! 😀

In related news, Sega has released an emulator to run Panzer Dragoon Zwei and Golden Axe the Duel. Download it here (link at bottom of page):
http://cyberdisc.zaq.ne.jp/monitor-sanka.html

You don't have to register to download.. but the emulator itself seems to be shareware. The "GO!" links on that page are to purchase the games.

As usual, to try to get Japanese software running on English OS's, go here:

(On the whole, the CyberDisc site seems pretty cool, too: http://cyberdisc.zaq.ne.jp/)

Monitor this thread for news on it:

And for Japanese-English webpage translation, use AMIKAI
(http://www.excite.co.jp/world/url/, choose second radio button, then click big grey button)

Except, of course, I don't have the Saturn version of Virtua Fighter Remix.

I could always try throwing the NV1 version of it at the emulator, but I doubt anything would happen. I do have Saturn CD somewhere around here, I got just in case someone managed to make an emulator. Of course, I can't find it now.

Again, thanks for yet more "stuff" for us to look at. (Like I need more games, Heh). It's appreciated, though.

Heh. See, Colin got me. Tasty, eh? 😉 😉
Alright, just kidding.

An update:
Fabien is a person who is rapidly gaining knowledge about how to emulate a graphics processor that uses warped quads. I shall write up a lengthy email about how, when he's done Satourne, he'd really be interested in looking at the NVIDIA NV1, when I have the chance.

And it turns out that the Sega Saturn emulator's trial time has expired. (At least for now.) Too bad.

But is Eddie/Console for emulation news-related posts?

Eddie, the Shipboard Computer
Console
Emulation of old consoles.

Heart of Gold

Announcements, advice, random banter, unrelated discussion, et cetera.

If so, it's news to me. Oh well... *shrug*

Emulation of old consoles... fits for me. In any case, this has turned into an emulation discussion thread so it should be here. In any case, if this was a release information bulletin, it should have gone in the Release Announcements forum. 😀

Yes, it’s my fault.

Is NV1= tnt1?
If it is, I assume that it shares the architecure of all nVidia cards untill now...
If the ship was reverse engeneered, could it be possible to write a real "low level" glide2x/3x.dll for these cards?

Definitely not. NV1 was a very, very different type of chipset. Almost caused me to swear off nVidia chips forever, but the GeForce changed my mind.

Some of this was discussed in this thread:
