i've got the same problem with tie fighter
i used the go.bat and he don't even list EMS.
XMS is always available. can i use XMS as EMS?
what should i do?

creative adigy player
ati radeon 9600
usb mouse
usb joystick
and winxp prof running
my problem is caused by the hardware i use.

If a game support both XMS and EMS, i would go with XMS first.
use other hardware?....
Try to disable from the BIOS any stuff you may not be using under pure DOS and has drivers under Windows (such as onboard RAID controllers, SCSI cards, or support for USB mice and keyboards.) Regions in memory are allocated by the BIOS for these things in order to support real DOS, but WIndows already has drivers and the regions allocated in memory (which interfere with EMS) may in most cases be redundant.
