Great setup!

Be careful with cords around that rad though, they can get very hot if you're using the heat!

My work (FUN) space is of course, in the basement. The only place that I can spread out and not be in my wife's way! It has taken a long while to make it to this spot, and there is still plenty to do. It is my retirement plan since everybody tells me that when you retire, we all need a hobby. This is mine.

The first shows the workbench. Currently, a 486DX4/100 WFWG build on a LuckyStar 486 motherboard.

The second is my "play space" - Three PC's running DOS through WIN98se capable machines.

The third shows inventory and storage space. (I get carried away sometimes- but am ready for most projects!)

Retirement- is that a light I see up ahead??

It's not a problem, I don't use that radiator and if I do, since I'll use that area more, I'll keep it low. If you look at the bottom it has a valve, so I can shut it off entirely or run it at a trickle so it just gest 'warm'. 😀

I'm finally not ashamed to show the setup of my study/computing room. With the UK in lock down and spending more time in this room than any other due to home working, I figured I'd better get the room ship shape.

Bar a couple of unfinished builds, a coat of paint, and tidily wiring everything the room is not far off what I want it to be. There are going to be fourteen computers (and a Raspberry Pi) in here once it's complete. Most are either under the desk, or behind/to the side of the monitors.

It's quite a small room, so fitting everything in is a little challenging.

Working from home has inspired me to setup my area. Will most likely be moving start of next year so only temporarily and while far from ideal happy with the finished result.
I went with how many PC's can I get into the space my Mrs has allowed

Bottom row left to right.
Duel PPro NT3.51, P4 Win98, Socket 775 XP, Duel HP xw6200 SBS2k, Duel Dell Precision 650 NT4, Duel Prolient 1600
Top row left to right
Duel Slot1 Win2k, Dell T500 Win98, Mac OS9 & 10, Bottom desktop Dx2/66 Win3.11, Top desktop POD83 Win95

CM15-R.jpg
Under the desk
SlotA 650 Win98, P3 Laptop as part of my SBS2k build, Hardmod OG xbox with 2TB HDD.

The left screen is attached to one of the 4 port KVM's underneath.
The CRT is attached to the other 4 port KVM
The Middle screen is attached to the 8 port KVM underneath.
Currently only the xbox is hooked upto the Logitech T5500 5.1 speakers, I have an optic splitter to connect some of the PC's but on the rare times I fire up a game I'm using headphones at the moment so no rush.

Desk is in work mode with boring Win10 laptop hooked upto the 8 port KVM, Have been known to play simcity classic on the DX4 in the background on quieter days though 😉

Nice. It looks like a comfy spot to spend some time just relaxing and enjoying.

Now that is what I am talking about! I am loving the separation between more modern and retro there!

With so many of us on the Inside, I imagine we could do a pretty good sub-thread just of the piles that have formed as we re-arrange our space.

I like those twin beige boxes. What have they got in them?

A mausoleum of my final P1 & PPro, with all the spare drives & cards that would fit, to accompany them into what the afterlife may hold.

My four main PCs, from left to right:

My modern gaming beast

A backup server.

My Retro Rig.

And a laptop for looking up guides when I get stuck in games.

(The second server tower is empty, together they hold up that shelf)

I also have a small convertable laptop for displaying my modern PC's system loads, but I lent it to a friend for the time being.

That case with the slot load drive is interesting! What is it and what's it loaded with?

All hail the Great Capacitor Brand Finder

It's not a computer, it's a 4-bay SCSI drive enclosure that I repurposed to let the IBM case beside it appear stock.

The enclosure now has an AT power supply inside it along with extension cables so the drives and power connectors can reach the motherboard in the IBM case.

Together they're my Retro Rig, which has DOS 6.22 and Windows 98SE on separate removable drives.
