Hey, that's a realy nice case & DVD drive!

I believe it is a Pioneer DVD-105s ('s' for slot-load model).

That was my first ever DVD drive, wonderful quality from Pioneer and it looked badass too!

I mainly use it to play games from the era, the only game I did not managed to run was Worms (DOS 1995) but that is a bit of an older game. Also I have a live drive ir with me, unfortunately I was never able to make the remote work nor the live drive itself, as newer drivers often crash the computer.

Welcome to VOGONS, Arceles.

That's quite the case you have there - presumably one of those PC cases trying to imitate the G3's style? I like it! Fits the late-90s early-2000s feel rather well.

I did not try to imitate any style but when I was building this computer, I tried to find a case for it and managed to find a seller that had it, new and everything... for about 5 usd, I was happy indeed.

Question. How did you get those drives to connect to the case there? I'm planning on doing something like that for one of my computers as the case's mounts are worn and the screws never stay in.

Here’s another one I pulled from the trash.

CCAF8A42-7277-4D1B-8744-A4FD7A3B5813.jpeg

A Dell Dimension 8200, the exact Pentium 4 system I had been looking for. It’s a socket 478 and uses RDRAM.

It currently has a 1.8GHz Willamette and actually runs very well, but I will be swapping it out for a 3.0GHz Northwood.

I have dual-booted it with Windows 2000 and XP.

It’s missing the floppy drive, so I will have to get another for it.

I had the exact same type 8200 years ago. I still remember being thrilled when I got it. That computer stuck with me for a long time. Good times!

Mostly with extension cables, they go through the hole where the Big Red Switch used to be on the side of the IBM case and into the back of the expansion tower where its large SCSI connectors were.

I also swapped the expansion's PSU with an AT model and extended its motherboard connectors, so both units power on at once.

Gotta ask; what's the IBM-box under the NEC CD-changer? Some kind of funky modem?

The monitor on the left (Acer 77c) is driven by a fairly nondescript tower out of shot. It contains a Pentium-S 90mhz, Diamond Stealth 3D 2000, Voodoo1 and Labway A151-830 (OPL3) sound card. Runs DOS 6.22.

The all-in-one to the right of that is a Compaq Presario 425, running the stock 486sx/25 CPU, RAM maxed to 20MB and a Soundblaster 16.

Flanking the displays is a pair of Apple M6082 powered speakers, refurbed with new drivers.

Along the middle shelf: Aten CS-122 KVM, Roland SC-55 (driven by the Pentium system), and Roland MT-32 (driven by the 486).

Along the front are a Roland MX-5 mixer (such a perfect looking thing but not in great shape; I had to retire it soon after this photo was taken), a fairly ordinary dome keyboard, MS mouse and MS Sidewinder 3D Pro.

Cheers! The desk is an Ikea Jerker, a great modular product that they should never have discontinued. The shelves have a steel support running the length, but if you view full size you can still see them bowing slightly under the weight. There are now some discreet wooden blocks in the middle to add support.

Finally got a Tandy Deluxe Mouse for the Tandy 1000A. Surprisingly it's not bad at all given all the odd quirks I read about being a Joystick based device.

Soon it'll be time to throw an 8087 and a V20 in there.

This is a sweet setup. I need to get me a all-in-one 486 one day. The desk is quiet unusual with that double shelf setup - is that how the desk came or did you make that yourself?
