Very nice machine. Did you connect the front-panel ports somehow?

No, not yet. I don't know how that would be possible to accomplish with USB3. I'm thinking of a sleek IDE to (micro)SD adapter to move files to the computer, instead of using the built-in USB.

If there are at least USB2 and AC97 front audio headers on your board, then adapters from USB3 / HD Audio front panel cables can be used.

Nice! 3 keyboards, 3 different layouts. The one on the top left is the best one; too bad it's non-standard so almost impossible to find.

What do you mean with "non-standard"? 😀

That it is not one of the standardized layouts listed, e.g., here. Hence, very few manufacturers produce keyboards with such layouts - mostly obscure brands, with not very high quality.

Which is unfortunate, because it's really the best layout - big Enter, big Backspace - and for the backslash it sacrifices merely a portion of the right Shift which is longer than the left and not used as frequently.

It's definitely not worth the 50eur asking price today but otherwise quite an adequate case. Previous 20-30eur yes.

Here is my Win98/ME retro build, Core Duo E4600, ASRock 775i65g, GeForce4 Ti 4200 with a Zalman cooler, and of course my Diamond MX300. It's all going into a Dell XPS M166s case. Just testing fitting to see what needs to be done for wiring it up. Does anyone know if custom length IDE and Floppy cables are a thing? I'm planning to run the boot drive off a SATA SSD that I have in one of the rear caddies, thinking that will make it easy to swap OSes and what not. Was really happy with the performance when I had it all setup on the test bench.

USB 3.0 to 2.0 internal adapter. They work fine.

Love the simplicity and cleanliness of this build. I'm also in the process of slowly collecting parts for a ASRock 775i65G based build. That board is so unique and capable.

These late model socket 775 motherboards that support Core Duos and have SATA ports are so good for Win98. I do want to test a fast P4 vs my core duo to see if thier is a huge difference in games in Win98. Something like a P4 660 since they are cheap If only to see if these Core Duo supporting mobos with AGP are worth the premium over the ones that don't support the core duos.

I've selected a Pentium E5800 3.2GHz for my build. I figured the strong single core performance would probably be well suited for it.

My lovely i486DX2 66mhz by Zenith Data Systems Z Select 100 XE

Originally this thing was kind of working trash and then I made it treasure. 😀

Comes installed with a sound blaster 16 isa and a front section CF card adapter in place of the old CD-ROM.
