This is my newly finished 286 build. More of my computer builds are available on my website.

Whats with all the cookies..? 🤨

It is a Google Sites page, so I have no control over that I am afraid..

...sure, but what I meant was, why any cookies at all on such a website? 😅
Message says something about google(!) 'improving' the 'services' and whatnot, L.O.L.
And there is NO opt-out option at all.
Oh well, I'll not make too much of a deal out of this, but just had me baffled for a short minute there.

(or are private non-commercial sites actually obligated to always have these things ? If so, I suppose vogons.org would have to implement tracking cookies etc. I don't know too much about this, but was really surprised to see google butting in like that, already enough telemetry as it is)

EDIT: oh, new reply while I was writing. Ok, I get it.

Really excited about this work in progress:

Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-686BLX Mainboard with Intel 440LX Chipset
CPU: Intel Pentium II 233 Mhz Slot I. Will upgrade to 333 mhz soon (less heat output, for passive cooling)
RAM: 128 MB SD-RAM PC100
Optical: Sony CRX220E1 52x24x52x CD-R/RW IDE
GPU: Matrox Millennium G450 Dual Head AGP 16 MB
Sound: Sound Blaster PCI 128 CT4810

It belonged to a heavy smoker so there was A LOT of cleaning and retrobrighting involved...

At the moment I am cleaning the FDD

Yes, exactly! I removed it for the retrobrighting. Will put it back on later

I have this case too. Mine has a greenish power button. The case yellowed with age, even though no heavy smokers use it, but it's not bad enough to make we want to do a retrobright on it.

I don't have this case, but the one I have also has a tiny little reset button that is impossible to push with my finger. It's annoying because sometimes I need to reset it.

I think this one is similar. I have to use my fingernail. Doesn't work well for folks whose fingernails don't extend past the tips of their fingers...

I think your style of case is one "styling generation" after this one :

The general design is very similar to your case, but the "Medion MT2" generation is not as round.
I would guess its the same manufacturer making these cases.

I love that Siemens-Nixdorf keyboard by the way. I just wish it didn't have rubber domes ..

Very nice! What are the specs of the Fujitsu Siemens?

It's a socket 370 coppermine Celeron 700, Integrated graphics (Intel 82810e) - kinda bad for 3d games, but quite decent for Age of Empires 2 and the like

I just found my first controller - Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad! Haven't used it in about 25 years and it still works!

The last 3 computers I have found are Pentium 3's. This is the latest one. It is a Dell Dimension 4100. It had 128 Megs of RAM. No HDD, anda P3 933 mhz CPU. I really like this case, so I might transplant a 1ghz cpu into it and more ram. It also had an ATI rage 128 pro in it.

4MUdC1G.jpg

THen I have this NetVista P3, which has a 1 ghz CPU , 500 megs of ram and I had a voodoo 3 2000 installed. This is the machine I was playiing Max Payne 1 on .

SmJABHK.jpg

I also have this Black NetVista. Well the cover is black, but not shown in the pic. Its a 1.3 ghz celeron with 256 megs of ram. I recently put the voodoo 3 in it to test it and it runs very nicely.

Well here is the oldest of my 5 retro machines.
AMD am386dx40
Cyrix fasmath 40
PCChips M321 rev 3.1 motherboard
256mb cache (cachechk reports it as good)
4MB of ram
Trident 8900 VGA card 1mb
Sound blaster 16
SD to ide card adapter
8x mitsumi cd ROM.

It's been a fun unit to play with. I still would like to add an xtide card in as right now I'm using ontrack to use drives as it has the 500MB limit.
I use a floppy emulator on it most the time too but I only have one I swap between machines.
