My latest build!

This build will be my "new" primary setup for small retro LAN, that i have with a good friend from time to time. We are mainly playing Diablo II: LoD (1.13c), Diablo, Aliens vs. Predator, Quake II, Quake III, Unreal, Delta Force, and other late 90´s / early 2000 games. My last setup (PIII 933 MHz) was running a Voodoo 3 3000, which was a little too week for a good WarCraft III experiance, but with the GF256 it runs very well now. WCIII will definitely be one of the most played games, next time i will play LAN.

For me it is important to stay below 1GHz. I really like the fact, that i have to pronounce my CPU speed in MHz 😜 This gives me a special kind of "retro joy", and it is around this PC spec "time", that my favorite games are from <3

I love that i was able to get a good deal on the Tt LANbox cabinet. I is from around 2007+-. but i think it looks very nice i a special way 😜

Pentium III 850MHz
Asus CUV4X-M
Asus GeForce 256 (AGP-V6600/32M(TVR))
Creative Sound Blaster Live! (CT4760)
512MB SDRAM (PC133)
80 GB Maxtor HDD
Thermaltake LANbox kabinet

Dual boot: Windows 98SE + Windows 2000 Pro.

I like how the live! is shown proudly behind the case window.

Bit envious you have someone to still play all these games with, I've got 2 PC's per era to play network games but all my mates are other side of the world.

In my opinion it is okay quiet. I´m using PC speakers, so if it sould be a problem, i just turn up the volume in Winamp 😜

Excellent choice in speakers as well. My parents got these back in the day with their first 486 DX2-66. They still sit on my moms desk today and since they sounded so good I just recently acquired another pair from eBay for my own retro setup.
Here in Germany they were sold as "Quadral allsonic SM 40A".
