DEC were always my favorites, possibly due to being able to pick them up cheap because nobody "rated" them, but they were pretty solid for me too.... until the era of dirt cheap Realteks where everything had drivers and supported them, so I tended toward them, though by then the handling of collisions and lack of freaking out in packet storms weren't a factor because it was all switches, not hubs or 10base2. Meaning if your realtek gets on well with it's port on the switch it will probably continue to do so.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

This motherboard was probably designed for WinNT 3.51.
By the time WinNT 4.0 came around Intel already released the Slot 1 Pentium II
And many computer manufactures and motherboard manufactures already released dual slot 1 motherboards and
Workstations. WinNT 4.0 was main stream on Pentium II.

But back in 1997 while working for a computer education company we use to run WinNT 4.0 workstation and server on Pentium 100 computers with 32mb ram. And they use to run every program available at the time. They ran vary stable and reliable.
So WinNT 4.0 actually runs fine on a Pentium 100 CPU.

I hate doing that then it has all the bloat from the previous version.

Not really if you go from a clean install to next

This is very interesting! I didn't know that there was such a thing as a dual processor Socket 7 motherboard.

If you think that’s interesting check out the link in my last reply :p

Tyan S1564 (single socket7 CPU) instability

I’ll save this link here in my dual build thread as it has relevancies to this board.

Finally!! Some dual socket 7 over clocking!!

It was bound to happen when I ran across these identical unlocked 166 mmxs.

See how well you can get Quake to run in DOS and nite which resolutions are playable.

I know that having multiple processors won't help, but overlooking them is interesting.

It was kinda a joke 🤣, the only way I can over clock this mobo is to put cpus in it that are slower haha

Got a link to the specific benchmark you want me to run?

Will it run Crysis?

Oh, I meant, will it run with 75 MHz FSB?

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

Phil's benchmark is the easiest way to get benchmark results. Since it's a Socket 7, I think that Quake would be the most appropriate.
