I'm not sure which area this should go under, so if it doesn't fit in this one, please move it!

Just some pics of all the case badges I have collected over the years, a lot from eBay and some are from CPU's I have bought. I hope you like and they bring back memories!

I still would like to do something with all these so I can display them, but don't know what. I was at one time thinking of applying them all to the side of my blue Win XP case....

wow that's a nice collection, there are some I've never seen, like the Itanium one but my all time preferred is the black Pentium III 😉

Fantastic collection! I'd love to find a Pentium MMX for my Windows 98 box. If you find a duplicate, let me know!

Modern PC: i7-9700KF, 16GB memory, RTX 3060. Proper PC: Pentium 200 MMX, 128MB EDO memory, GeForce2 MX(200).

that's a nice collection... I would have an idea what to do with all of them... how about a nice high resolution scan? 😁

Well, the only scanner I have is an HP Scanjet 2200c, it might work....

It's fairly easy to get new badges printed. What's not easy is to find good scans of real badges. So my point is, if you want to do something good with them, make high quality scans of those badges stat!

I've got a scan happening right now, taking well over an hour. 17 labels in one shot. Scanning at 1200DPI, file size is going to be about 419.3 MB, according to the software. I will try and upload it somewhere and post the link here, then if you let me know what you think and then I can do more 😀

Hmm works for me. It won't display a thumbnail (perhaps due to size) but there should still be a download button.

Thanks OP, squirrelled away in the hoard in case they ever come in handy. It would probably be good to upload this to archive.org too. I'd be happy to do it (and credit you) if you don't have the time or inclination.

thank you, if you wanna save them uncompressed you should try using .png ^^ that reduces the filesize from 400MB+ to just 48MB

I know this is a lot to ask ^^ but having them aligned straight before scanning will make working with them a lot easier, especially with the artifacting that the scanner seems to create that is straight across the image.

I have taken and re-scanned all the case badges in three lots. I have tried to keep them as straight as I could, but unfortunately there are a small handful that ended up tweaked, I think from when I put the lid down. I will be uploading them once the third batch is done. I have scanned and saved them as .png files, they are still 229-300MB in size. Scanned at highest bit depth, highest resolution of 1200 DPI. They aren't perfect, but I hope you will all like them as it takes over an hour for each group to scan.

Lovely. Thanks for your efforts! Do you have any objection to these being uploaded to archive.org for posterity?
