Hello,

I just bought a Roland MT-32 and i'm trying to make it work with Windows 98SE, but i'm having a lot of trouble.

I tried using softmpu but i can't get it to work. I tried installing soundblaster live drivers for dos but they don't seem to work.

I've connected the MT-32 with MIDI to Gameport cable to the sound card and my speakers, but that's my progress so far.

I apologize for being such a noob, i'm really not that good with these kinds of things, but i soooo want to make this work.

Can anyone please give me a noob tutorial on what i need to do ?

Thanks.

My suggestion is rather get yourself an ISA based sound card (like a Sound Blaster 16, SB32, AWE32 or AWE64) - this is, of course, if your motherboard has ISA slots.

My experience over the years has been that PCI sound cards do not make for good DOS based sound cards and, in some cases, those cards' MPU-401 MIDI interfaces only functions under Windows.
