I have the opportunity to get the sc-7 for a decent price. I can find very little about this module but I watch a couple of videos on YouTube to peak my interest. Can anyone familiar with this module be able to tell me if it has an MT-32 mode? I would assume it needs some software such as gsplay to activate it?

Thanks.

There is nothing in the user manual about an MT-32 mode or any compatibility with software that uses MT-32 features. The SC-7 is a first-generation Sound Canvas module and intended to be a "budget" Roland GS MIDI synth, so it won't have any advanced features or capabilities, like it's sibling, the SC-55, which has an MT-32 mode with no reprogramming and a fuller range of GS sounds.

SC-7 is a GM-only device and "only" has the standard 128 GM instruments
there is no mt-32 mode on it
it sounds really nice in games so if you can get it for a good price then go for it rad_sci_guy as any GM game will be fine with it
