i know this isn't the right forum, but i can't register (i've tried three times, with email accounts on two different domains - i never get the confirmation email / activation key) as i would need to do to post in the appropriate forum, so i'll just post here.

anyway, whenever i attempt to create / save characters, i'm prompted with a "put save disk in a:" message. when i tried creating an image of a 2.88mb disk with winimage, i was prompted with the message, again.

here's the relevant portion from my dosbox.conf file:

[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.

@echo off
imgmount a c:\games\floppy.img -t floppy
mount c c:\games\dosbox
c:

Don't have the game but I've heard that you have to specify a save directory. So either run the game configuration utility or look for a .cfg file.

Open the file krynn.cfg and add a backslash ("\") to the path setting pointing to your save dir.

For example:
I've stored COK in C:\DOSGames\AD&D\COK, and mount the DOSGames dir as drive C.
Accordingly, the path setting written by COK itself reads: C:\AD&D\COK\SAVE
To enable saving games&chars, I added a backslash, so the line reads C:\AD&D\COK\SAVE\

That's it, it's an issue with several of the older AD&D rpg's (not DOSBox specific).
