I’ve been using a DOS based program named PFS Professional File by Software Publishing Corp, Mountain View, CA since the late 1980’s for creating business forms and reports. I’ve tried to find equivalent Windows based programs for years but nothing comes close to the performance, versatility, and capabilities of PFS Professional File.
PFS Professional File worked on my old computer with Windows XP and which had a 25 pin parallel printer port. Unfortunately, that computer’s mother board crashed and I had to buy a new computer with Windows 7 and USB printer ports. Windows 7 apparently does not recognize or run DOS based programs. I can only run PFS Professional File now using DOSBox 0.74 and I can no longer print out files or reports since the (1) the old DOS printer drivers were in the PFS program itself and (2) I can’t physically connect my old parallel printer to the new computer.
Is there anyone out there who can help me with the following:
1) Do you know of a Windows based program that has similar features and capabilities to PFS Professional File?
2) The DOSBox display on my monitor is very small. Is there any way to enlarge it?
3) How can I communicate between PFS Professional File, running in DOSBox, and my old HP Deskjet 952C printer with parallel ports which is the only printer that the old vintage 1986 DOS drivers in PFS Professional File recognize?
Help!
