Hello! I have troubles while trying to change the Options of DOSBox. Each time I try to open the DOSBox Options, nothing happened and although I change the options manually, when I start DOSBox, it starts with its default settings. My PC Configuration is:

CPU : Intel Core i-7 6800K @ 3.40 GHz
RAM : 64 GB @ 2.400 MHz
GPU : nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 @ 8 GB DDR5
O/S : Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64bit

Can you tell me why does it happen and how can I solve it?

are you sure that dosbox can read and write to the locations where the options are stored ?

That is a tricky question actually.
So lets focus on a different part. If you start dosbox (by not using the non-console shortcut), 2 windows will pop up

in the "DOSBox Status Window" there should be some information printed on which configfiles are being used (and if a new one is being generated)

I think so. How can I make sure DOSBox can write to a folder?

Launch DOSBox and execute the following command:

config -wc c:\temp\test.ini

Then check if the new config file has been created.

To use a specific config file, start DOSBox with:

DOSBox.exe -conf c:\temp\test.ini

I think it is a bug that DOSBox does not issue a diagnostic if a non-existent or unavailable path is supplied, but you still can check the effect by adding an echo to the [autoexec] section of the config.
