Greetings,

I am attempting to run Windows 3.11 with the Sound Blaster 16 driver, and an MT-32, using a Roland midi-usb interface.

All games are running fine with SB for sound, and MT32 for music (if supported; using custom *.conf to disable MT32 for GM music as needed.)

However, after installing the SB16 driver in Dosbox/Windows 3.x, I get an error when I load Windows.

It reads:

Sound Blaster 16
ERROR
Incorrect MIDIPORT setting in the SYSTEM.INI file

I can't seem to figure out what I need to do. The idea is to have Win 3.x behave like DOS. I want to run Windows versions of certain games, such as Sierra titles, and ryn Origin FX, using the MT-32. When I run DIAGNOSE, it will only allow me to use port 330, which I assume is the reason for the error.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I figured it out, somehow.

I reinstalled Win311, and tried a different SB16 driver. It allowed me to choose port 300 during the install, and then I copied the contents of the autoexec.bat it created to the autoexec in my windows dosbox.conf file. When I booted uo WFW311, the familiar chine played.
