Some of the games I play in DosBox don't need the full resolution of the screen my computer runs (1920x1080), I'm guessing this is because they were designed for computers with a CRT screen that is for the most part full screen. This makes me want to window DosBox so maybe I can have something like the game manual on the extra side provided to me by my computer however the windowed version of DosBox is very small.
I found this site (1) listing how I can change the size of the window but then I got concerned, if I change windowed DosBox to a resolution that isn't proportional will it stretch and warp the game to fit? I experimented with a bizarre resolution of 1280x200 and it looks like DosBox will change the size to the smaller resolution because instead of a strip I got a very small box. Is this correct? I would rather play a game with space on the sides then stretched in a way that distorts the game.
