🙁
I was looking forward to getting dosbox to run so I could here the adlib/sound blaster sounds from my old games like Bio Menace, Raptor, Duke Nukem, Death Rally, etc. I've got a whole bunch of them. Looks like I should put my windows 3.11 computer back up and run dos 😉

Check that your desktop is set to at least 16bit, DosBox doesn't like 256 color mode.

It worked when I had the "SDL_VIDEODRIVER=windib" variable set when my desktop was set to 256-colors.

It happens the same to me. 😵

My videocard is a Radeon 9600 Pro. I'm using the most updated drivers for my silly OS (windows 98 ) and DirectX 9. I tryed several SDL.DLL versions and DOSBox versions, but the result was still the same.
That was strange, because any other SDL application just works fine into my system.

Eventually I opened my control panel and disabled my sound card (a Vortex 1 based sound card) and now DOSBox works! 😳
But of course I cannot keep it disabled 😒

I think I should disable DOSBox sound emulation or checking (dunno what) 😕 EDIT: I found that I don't have to disable the whole audio card, disabling the Gameport Interface (or removing the analog joystic 😳 ) is sufficient.
