Is it possible to customize AUTOEXEC.BAT, in Z: (Internal Virtual Drive)? I want to automate things (Mount a few drives for utilities, etc.). I've been working on a hobby project, a kind of text-adventure game in Batch, so I'd like to minimize typing, as Batch seems to require more typing than, per se, Python.

I'm a relative beginner to DOSBox, so tell me if I'm missing/misinterpreting something.

And yes, I am aware that DOSBox is for games explicitly. Again, this is just a hobby project.

Assuming you are using windows, the installation creates a shortcut named something like "dosbox <version> options". Look for it in the start menu. It's essential for dosbox usage and you'll need it for more things in the future.

Shit, I didn't even know DB included an actual autoexec.bat.

dosbox.conf's [autoexec] section is definitely the place you want. Just plonk whatever you would've put into your autoexec.bat right in there, it works the same.

Sorry, I didn't mention it before. I'm on macOS.

Just did a quick search, you should find it in ~/library/preferences/ named "DOSBox <version> Preferences".
