Instead of whatever it's autodetecting (GUS) just try the Sound Blaster 16 instead, and enter through the default choices

Thanks for the suggestion, but it does'nt seem to work. Strange, all the old microprose games (Subwar 2050, PAW and B17) work with the same audio settings as Descent

For that particular game there is a Windows port, it's called DX-Rebirth, and can be found at http://www.dxx-rebirth.de/

If you can't make it work within DOSBox, then it's an option.

Descent works just fine in dosbox, sb16 addr=220 irq=7 dma=1.
