i have 'chasm: the rift', and using 'dfend reloaded'
gfx: voodoo3
ram: 256

what i wanted, was someone's settings for chasm that makes the game look its best and run its fastest. i don't know what this type of file is called, but something to change my config file (it doesn't have to be through dfr, unless you want, because i can change the dosbox config file). ps,if you have to use mouse2kv.exe, please give those settings as well? thank you! cogs - new to dosbox

Sorry but you're going to have to do the work yourself.

Seeing how you have a Voodoo 3 and 256mb of ram I'm going to assume that you have an ancient ass computer. As such DOSBox will most likely run slowly on it. Most people do not run DOSBox on such old computers so the amount of people you have config files that match yours exactly will be very few.

With that said nobody needs to provide you with a config file because there's not much that really needs to be changed. Just install and setup the game properly in DOSBox and then play it.

As for "mouse2kv", that program is needed for the "Command prompt" in Windows. It is not for DOSBox. DOSBox and the "Command Prompt" are two totally different things.

wait a minute.... i'm running winxp on a hp pavilion 510n, with a 320g hd, and Intel Celeron 1.2 GHz. i can have a few programs open (firefox, notepad, win explorer), and still not have any problem running chasm w/dosbox.
as for the mouse2kv.exe, i was using this to make the mouse smoother, cause it does do that with chasm. so please don't think my computer can't run chasm at top speed and faster.
i just need the specs for the dosbox.conf to make the program run the way people who actually play it to its full potential on dosbox.

if you want to run that at the 'full potential', you'll have to upgrade to something 2ghz dual core-ish if you want to do it in DOSBox. Otherwise, throw Linux on there (no win98se unless you want to take the risk of doing it on a big hd) and dosemu it.
